Given that Twitter continues to have massive missteps with the verification system and the potential to go bankrupt, our instance has grown quite a bit in the last two weeks. After all, people worry about the future of Twitter, especially since it’s going downhill fast.
With that, we received a few donations, and we thank you for that. To add confidence in the future of this platform, I enabled backups of the server that hosts the Mastodon and Xenforo forums. It’s worth it compared to paying Twitter Blue on a dying platform. Also, we now have a Kofi account if you want to support this instance monthly.
Also, there is now an official Sakurajima Mastodon account, which will share updates made about this instance on this blog. This account will now be suggested to new users, and you should follow it for updates concerning this instance, such as server maintenance (e.g., Mastodon software updates) and other updates.
If you are new to Mastodon, check out these new guides. Also, share the news about this instance with your followers and anyone in the Anime Blogosphere so you will have time for your followers to move over in case Twitter goes down or go bankrupt and is forced to shut down. By having anime fans and bloggers join this instance, they will be able to find each other easier, although we may need to upgrade the instance resources if we reach the capacity limit.
